Join us in Vienna for the Geo-Academy Winter School 2025!
We are happy to invite you for the the GEO-Academy Winter School 2025!
The GEO-Academy winter school course is part of the “Innovative digital GEO” project, designed to enhance teachers’ digital, environmental, and spatial competencies for effective STEAM education in the context of Sustainable Development.
GEO-Academy seeks to establish a European network that offers a comprehensive training and professional development program for both pre-service and in-service teachers. The focus is on equipping educators with innovative strategies and learning modules rooted in competency-based pedagogies, aiming to holistically prepare the next generation of European citizens to address Sustainable Development challenges. Additionally, it promotes a community of practice among educators for ongoing collaboration and learning.
This school is designed to be highly engaging, creative, and interactive. Participating teachers will work as individuals and in small groups. Thus, they will be able to collaborate with teachers from other countries, discuss ideas, and exchange experiences to create lesson plans and group activities which will encompass all the features of successful inter-disciplinary science activities.
The course will last for 5 days, consisting of a total of 29 hours of workshop-based training, such as presentations followed by hands-on sessions.
The Winter School will be held at Kardinal König Haus Vienna, near the historic location of Schönnbrun palace, at the center of Vienna.
